About Our Legacy Fields
Renee & Leigh
We’re Renee and Leigh, partners in life and co-owners of the farm. We are reinventing to create space for life. Real life. We’re a couple who want to show our kids what it’s like to completely reinvent, dream big, work hard and achieve massive goals. We’re daughters, mothers and hard working women, who want time to do more of what matters to us, enjoy life, be there for others and spend time with our family.
The Farm's History
Our Legacy Fields was named after Renee’s grandfather’s favorite race horse that was raised on the farm, Our Legacy. She raced at Long Acres in the mid-1980’s when Renee was a young child. Many photographs of the family in the winner’s circle with Our Legacy conjures up incredible history and happy memories of time on the farm in Stanwood. The farm was nurtured and created by the careful hands of Renee’s grandfather and father. Leigh and Renee now get to enjoy watching this farm evolve again, with the love, help, and encouragement from their families. With the mission to recenter life around what matters most, the name Our Legacy Fields represents something new. A hope for a new legacy that instills simple, meaningful and heartfelt living that’s closely connected to purpose, and brings joy while realizing life is short, and our time should be spent wisely with the people who matter most.
The Red Barn
This barn was the inspiration for our logo. Renee’s dad and grandpa built it together for the horses. There’s a history here. Renee’s dad has memories of working on projects all over this farm with his father. Every corner has a story. The stories are evolving with projects Renee and Leigh work on together now. It’s extra special when Renee’s father comes to lend a hand, and share a memory. We are so lucky to have him here to witness and enjoy this evolution. We are so proud to be here, humbled by what this place was and excited about what it will grow up to be. We’re proud of this legacy.
Why Lavender?
We want to challenge today’s culture of stressful busy-making. We want people to fill their eyes with beauty, enjoy the intoxicating fragrance, and find their deep breath. We love this ancient herb, and all it’s beneficial uses. We love how obsessed our pollinators are with lavender. We delight in watching stress melt off the faces of friends. We love being outdoors in beautiful PNW summers, and love meeting people who appreciate all of these things, too. Lavender conjures peace, health and relaxation. Everyone needs more of that.
Our Legacy Fields is situated on 10 acres of land, with several of those sunny fields perfect for growing lavender. Aside from being one of our favorite plants and scents, lavender was chosen because of its calming effects and symbolic representation of this journey, to develop a new life outside of the stress of the city, and encourage others to come, unwind and enjoy just the same.
We think this adventure is pretty darn cool, and we want to share it with everyone.

Keep Improving
We are deeply devoted to improving the health and wellness of our family, neighbors, community and environment. We are creating balance for ourselves, and hope to inspire that in others. A healthy farm can go far to extend little deeds of goodness with every interaction.

Doing all things with integrity no matter the influence or convenience, will keep us humbly grounded in our commitment to the Golden Rule.
Quality is Everything
We insist that quality reaches far beyond the blooms we grow, and is sewn into the lives we live, the relationships we cultivate, and the enjoyment in our days. In staying true to that, it can’t help but seep into the products we create, the experiences we provide, and the enjoyment that’s had here.
Do No Unnecessary Harm
We cringe at single-use plastics, diminishing bee population, and mean people. We deeply believe we can be a part of the evolution away from certain practices that aren’t helpful. Understanding that intention, we will forever pursue waste-reduction solutions, organic practices and kindness.
